What's this? a website
update? are you sure?....
Yes!. after being way
too lazy these last few months (and trying to get to grips
with new editing software) I've eventually got around to updating
the gigs list on the site. So now you'll find every confirmed
gig we have for the rest of the year, on our gigs page.
So, you ask, what have
we been up to? well, we've started working on some new recordings
(studio type ones this time, rather than live), and we've
also started choosing around 8 to 10 new songs to add/replace
in the sets. Look out for the first of these being added to
our shows soon.

Once again, I find
myself appologising for a lack of website updates seen around
here lately. As you may have noticed, some gigs dissapeared
for June & July. This was down to one of the band finding
themselves a little ill (it's only a "little bit ill"
if they don't keep you in the hospital more than a few days
right?).
Not to panic, all is
good, and we're back on the road, this time travelling down
to our wonderful friends in Cheltenham. Hope you've not been
too worried about if we would be able to do it, because we
can't wait!.

It's June!? Already!?
Be sure to join us back in the 'Rag this Saturday, for the
first time this year!. Miss it and you'll be missing our only
gig in June (how dare we all book holidays to in the same
month eh?). It's sure to be another great gig and we're expecting
to see lots of the regulars, hungry for their missing fix
of Beaver.........Fever!

So, no gigs on for
a few weeks, we' like to wish everyone a great easter now,
and hope you all enjoy yourselves.
Our next gig is the
same day as the Royal Wedding, not really sure what to expect
from it, other than even more people using it as an excuse
to get drun... have a great evening, celebrating all
that is good with the world... Well, something like that anyways.

I have to appologise
for not updating the website for a few weeks, but this thing
called "work" keeps on getting in the way of all
the important things. So what have you missed over the last
few weeks? (hopefully nothing!). The last Potter's gig was
again a great success, they even managed to get our name right
this time (although we're still working on them to remove
the "sweet sounds of..." part they seem to insist
on adding to the posters). Claire keeps saying "there's
nothing sweet about us!". See you there again this weekend!!.
The other great news
is we've welcomed back Dan the Roadie, it's great to have
him back after recovering from his recent injury, it makes
things so much easier when we've got him to blame. We've also
played a fantastic new venue (well, new for us) in Trinant,
and would like to thank everyone at the Pentwyn
Inn for making the night so enjoyable,
especially Lesley Pritchard (her with the tambourine) who
felt the need to get in touch with us the very next day to
say how much she'd enjoyed the show.

Join Us at The Potters
In Newport this Saturday for what is sure to be another amazing
night.
Good News at O'niell's
last Saturday, their new P.A. system seemed to do a mighty
fine job, and while we've got a bit of work to do to get a
good monitor sound for us, the sound for everyone in the crowd
was fantastic, and it was a great night as always.
We had lots of fun
and games trying to get set up in the time between the two
late 6 nations games. We've never rushed quite like that before,
making sure we were all set and ready before the Welsh game
started, and working around alot of happy Irishmen and of
course all the Welshmen full of antisipation (and various
alcoholic beverages) too. Regardless of results, everyone
involved still seemed to be enjoying themselves right to the
end.

Last week's gig at
The King's Arms in Abergavenny was a complete success, a great
gig with a great crowd, and we even had some guest singers
joining us (or rather being dragged into joining us, or having
the mic thrust infront of them by Claire - it's a good job
they know what she's like!).
O'niell's this week
is going to feel a little different for us, but we hope everyone
listening doesn't notice any difference, they've had a new
PA system installed which we're yet to test, anyone thats
ever seen us will tell you how prepared we are when we set
up, this is due to us using our own pa system, with all the
levels and eq's already set. Lets see how we do starting from
scratch, with equipment we've never used before!!. From what
we've been told, they've bought some top notch gear, so everything
should be great as always!.

Another new venue for us this weekend, we're
on James home ground for the first time and he can't wait
to show his home crowd how it should be done!.with our return
already booked in for a little later in the year. Then, next
weekend you'll be able to come along and watch us back in
O'niell's, as always we're looking forward to playing there
for another amazing evening.

We're returning to The Potters in Newport this weekend, it's
seems they can't get enough of us, I can't wait for yet another
great night infront of such an up for it crowd.
Our gig last Saturday at Sebastopol
Social was again a great night with everyone there intent
on rocking the place. Thanks to all who came, and made the
night what it was.

So far we've had a
great start to the year once again rocking The Potters in
Newport, playing a wonderful 40th Birthday Party & making
our return to O'niell's in Cardiff, playing to a fantastic
crowd of, well.. complete nutters, but we loved every single
one of them (except maybe you, yes, you know who you are..)
Hope to see you all at some of our future gigs.

Breaking
News!
'We would like to announce that the latest
casualty of the "Broken Beavers" is our roadie Dan.
He has succeeded in breaking his foot, we suspect purely not
to be outdone by the rest of the band. Recently band members
have managed to amass the following: one broken leg, a badly
broken wrist , a broken foot, two operations and a badly burnt
arm. The band has now decided to recruit a paramedic - preferably
one who can play an instrument.
All applications welcome, please send your
cv's to icanfixthatforyou@brokenbeavers.co.uk
Keith's First
Blog!
Well and truly back
on the road after our initial set-backs at the start of the
year - due to Mark's broken ankle (and subsequent infections)
and James' broken wrist. Glad to say, both recovering (albeit
slowly) - although Mark still has to play seated to take the
weight off. Don't ask how James manages to play as well as
ever, despite his damaged wrist - guess you just have to be
crazy (or a very good drummer!)
Shame about the FFrwd being cancelled this
coming weekend. Maybe some other time?
A quick word of thanks
to all those that have helped us moving our gear in and out
at the start and end of the nights. With Mark and James incapacitated,
we literally would not have been able to do these gigs without
you. We're hoping we may have secured the services of someone
on a regular basis, which will certainly get us over the problem
of having to line up help at each different venue!
Hope to see you at
O'Niell's on Friday.

Bikes, Beds &
broken bones
Hello! - I'm not sure
if you've guessed yet, but... WE'RE BACK! We've now played
a couple of gigs since recovering from the recent injuries
that saw us cancel quite a few at the start of the year.
James' wrist is getting
back to normal (after he broke it in a motorbike accident,
at first we were also worried that he may have hurt his head
as well, but he's a drummer, no one's been able to tell the
difference....).
To listen to him play,
you wouldn't know he was playing with limited movement in
his left wrist - he sounds as awesome as ever (I say reluctantly,
you've heard the phrase "don't feed the animals",
well in this case it's more "don't feed the animal's
ego").
All jokes aside, we're
all extremely happy this hasn't hindered James' playing which
would have seriously affected his life, and without him, the
whole feel of the band would be changed.
Onto my own ongoing leg injury, I was making
progress before getting struck down with what seemed to be
a never ending infection. Which as anyone who's seen us recently,
has reduced me to playing sat down for most of the gig's we've
done since our return.
I'm writing this from bed after leaving hospital
for what I hope is the last time, I've had another operation
which should put an end to my troubles and see myself &
therefore the band back to full strength in no time at all.
thanks for reading, hope to see you at a
gig very soon.
